Zigyalew Gashaw is a recent PhD candidate in the field of Horticulture at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. Before attending his PhD program he has been pursued his MSc. Degree in Horticulture at Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, BSC Degree in Plant Science, at Bahir Dar University College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and Diploma in plant science at Alage Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training College., Ethiopia; 2018, 2015 and 2007 respectively. He has ample experience in agricultural field works served as a Development Agent and Supervisor for about five years since he was a Diploma. Then he received a full academic grant for his high contribution and efficient field work in District level extension agents for a BSc degree with the help of the ISSD (Integrated Seed Sector Development) project at Bahir Dar University and then he joined BDU and followed his BSc degree on, 2015. Then he rejoined directly on 31/5/2016 for his MSc degree at Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine; Jimma, Ethiopia. After completing his MSc (7/6

/2018) he has soon employed as a Lecturer and researcher at Injibara University College of Agriculture, Food and Climate Sciences in Department of Horticulture. He served for more than 2.6 years as Lecturer, researcher and Department Head during his stay. He played a role in the installation of the Injibara University Horticulture Department and put his fingerprint on the beautification of Injibara University as a landscapist. In general, he has more than eight years of experience in serving the community in various aspects. He has been acknowledged in different institutions for his outstanding contributions to team works, NGO Jobs (WFP, EFSA, R4, Jhpiego), workshops, conferences, and journal publishers.

Also, he has better experience in conducting different research works which are published and available online for readers. In addition, he has received more than thirteen certificates of recognition for high contribution, highest score and participation awards in national and international institutions. Furthermore, he has received more than sixteen (>16) Certificates of Excellence in Reviewing in recognition of an outstanding contribution to different journals.

Nowadays, he has attending his PhD and doing his dissertation on the most recent serious devastating insect pest (Binomics and Integrated management of White mango scale (Aulacaspis Tubercularis Newstead)) in Amhara Region. For the future he wants to do his national and international researches on Horticultural crops and Food Security related researches in advance in the region, country and abroad.
